Biography

Harold was born on the family farm 5 miles southwest of Fredonia,North Dakota. He attended rural elementary school in Haag Townshipand helped work on the family farm. After he married Hulda, theylived in the Fredonia and Lehr area where he worked as a farm laborer. In 1935they moved into Lehr and Harold worked for the WPA until 1941,when they moved to the John Borth farm south of Gackle, North Dakota.In 1948 they moved into Gackle where Harold worked at the RemboldtGarage for 23 1/2 years and for Clarence Henne for 7 1/2 years.Following retirement, they continued to live in Gackle. He was amember of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Gackle. He died of cancerat the age of 79.
