Karl came to the US in 1849, attended theology school in Philadelphia,went to Germany and Switzerland and eventually became pastor inRohrbach from 1865 to 1876. Then back to Philadelphia, met up withhis brother, Wilhelm who was on his way to Sutton, Nebraska to bepastor for his mother and parishioners of his father's church inRohrbach. Karl later followed Wilhelm west to Menno, Tyndall, to Iowaand finally Scotland where he died in 1893 and is buried there.
