Wilmer grew up on his parents' farm and was a farm laborer until heentered the US Army on March 7, 1942. He was a military policemanuntil his discharge on Nov 2, 1945. He and Clara farmed until 1964when they moved to Mobridge, SD. Wilmer worked for the HolzworthBrothers Construction, Sackreiter Construction and Gunderson Oilbefore he retired in 1981. He was a member of the UnitedCongregational Church-United Church of Christ in Mobridge.
