Biography

Leonard was born on the family farm five miles southwest ofFredonia,North Dakota. He grew up on his parents farm and attendedrural elementary school. He was inducted into the U.S. Army in 1943and served in the European Theater where he was seriously wounded atthe "Battle of the Bulge" in Germany. After he was discharged he andIrene moved to Renville, Minnesota where they farmed for 33 years.They moved into Renville in 1982 and resided there until his death.He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Renville. He was 78years old at death.
